Potato Meeting in Central Turkey:
Improcrop together with Ares Organik and local agent, Ibrahim Karamese; attracted a large group of seed potato farmers to hear about Improcrop solutions. The meeting, held in the historical region of Cappadocia Caves north of Konya, focused on strategies for not only improving yield but also on decreasing dependence on chemical pesticides. The region is one of the premier seed potato regions in Europe with individual farmers producing up to 30.000 tons of seed potato per annum!
A peculiarity of the region is the fact that the Potatoes are stored in vast underground cave systems where the temperature is low and the humidity is high, making for an ideal storage environment, as shown in the accompanying photo! |
